The Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Inc. (GLCAC, Inc.) is a private non-profit agency, designated as the official federal and state anti-poverty agency for the Greater Lawrence, MA area. At GLCAC, Inc. we understand that individuals cannot attain a quality of life until basic needs are met. Poverty cannot be solved by a "Band-Aid" approach. The GLCAC, Inc sponsors many programs to assist individuals and families climb out of poverty by providing a comprehensive system of education, training, support and resources.

Lawrence Literacy Works strives to strengthen the relationship between workforce development, economic development and adult education so that newcomers, incumbent workers and transitioning youth will have access to a continuum of services, allowing for pathways to post-secondary education, workforce training and upward mobility within job tracks. LLW encourages collaboration across sectors to address the community issue of literacy in a holistic, systemic way, catalyzing changes in community building and family strengthening.
